We will be bringing back this fun get to know you, celebrate you, and help you section of the FIT4MOM Bellevue site, Each month we will feature a mom within the group, celebrate her for something awesome we have recognized and find out a little bit more about her. This village is about sharing and caring and we feel like spreading the love!
November we have chosen Christy Helmbrecht. Christy has been attending countless Stroller Strides classes since she joined in the summer and is always smiling and ready to enjoy the workout each of the instructors has planned. We love her dedication to showing up nearly every day, her hard work during class and her contagious smiles to help motivate not only the other moms, but also our instructors who like to know if they're giving you the workout you need and want!

- When did you join FIT4MOM?
I joined this summer when Amelia was 3 months old. I was also a Fit4mom member when my son was young, from 2007-2011. It’s GREAT to be back!
- What have you enjoyed most about it so far and what do you look forward to?
I really enjoyed being outside in the park this summer/fall, and the variety of workout styles each instructor brought to the program. Also, finally starting to feel my strength return. It has been a slow crawl since I had to have a c-section with Amelia. I couldn’t do a crunch or a pushup when I started… and last week I did 25 burpees with a partner. It wasn’t pretty, but I did it! J I’m looking forward to continuing to work towards getting my full strength back, as well as getting to know this awesome community of moms.
- Your view on fitness and motherhood ?
As a mom, taking of care of yourself physically is one of those things that can very easily fall by the wayside in the busyness of life… but it is also one of those things that refreshes you, produces energy, and brings you back to “yourself”. Gives you strength to be the best mom you can be for your children. I love that Stroller Strides gives me the opportunity to do just that – WITHOUT leaving my children behind. Being a strong and active mama is something I get to share with them each day, which makes it all the more fun.
- How you motivate yourself to come out nearly every day to class (which is crazy amazing!)
To be honest… I’m still trying to lose the baby weight. That’s the surface level motivation. However the residual benefits are just as motivational… keeping up with a regular daily routine for the kids and I, and seeing the smiling faces of my fellow mamas (and having some adult conversation!) Our days wouldn’t be the same without our morning outing to class!
